Out of interest, do you really subscribe to the outlook of your Gutshot column 'Pleasant Company Excepted', or is it pure tongue-in-cheek satire? It seems a remarkably naive/snobbish outlook if you mean it. I'm hoping it was mocking those who think Oxbridge graduates/rugger types are inherently more pleasant than the rest of us.
