Some Limit Hands

I've written a macro to convert Virgin hand histories to something more manageable.
Here's a few limit hands from today, with commentaries:
torsken123 is at seat 1 with 75.50
Villain_1 is at seat 2 with 427.01
istanbul72 is at seat 3 with 61.00
Sticky Bum is at seat 4 with 488.50
Ebba07 is at seat 5 with 295.00
Villain_2 is at seat 6 with 295.00
makinante is at seat 7 with 210.50
stillshady is at seat 8 with 287.50
Villain_3 is at seat 9 with 642.02
Birks is at seat 10 with 399.50
stillshady posts the large blind 5.00
makinante posts the small blind 2.50
Ebba07 posts 5.00
Birks: 7♣,, 6♣
Pre-flop:
Villain_3: Fold
Birks: Raise 10.00
torsken123: Call 10.00
Ebba07: Call 10.00
stillshady: Call 10.00
I’m not mad keen on this raise myself in retrospect. It just felt that it might work at this table, which seemed to lie down and die in the face of sustained aggression
Flop (Board: 4◊, 5♥, 5♠):
I like this flop. I can be aggressive, since it doesn’t look as if it will help a player who has cold-called a raise. If he has overcards, I am ahead, and if he has a bigger pair, then I have outs.
stillshady: Check
Birks: Bet 5.00
torsken123: Call 5.00
Ebba07: fold
Stillshady: fold
Turn (Board: 4◊, 5♥, 5♠, 6♥):
Birks: Bet 10.00
torsken123: Raise 20.00
Oh. Well, that’s an odd one. Something like King-Queen or Ace-King of hearts? Although there is nothing wrong with this call on the flop and raise on the turn with something like JJ or QQ, it’s an odd one. I really feel that this raise is more likely to be some kind of semi-bluff with outs. But I admit I’m a bit confused.
Birks: Call 20.00
River (Board: 4◊, 5♥, 5♠, 6♥, 4♣):
Birks: Check
torsken123: Bet 10.00
Birks: Call 10.00
Showdown:
torsken123 shows: 4♥, 2♥ (full house)
Oh. Obvious, really.
++++++++++++++++
Another hand
torsken123 is at seat 1 with 71.00
Villain_1 is at seat 2 with 349.51
dolly81 is at seat 3 with 244.50
Sticky Bum is at seat 4 with 468.50
Ebba07 is at seat 5 with 298.50
Villain_2 is at seat 6 with 293.50
makinante is at seat 7 with 202.50
stillshady is at seat 8 with 385.50
Villain_3 is at seat 9 with 723.52
Birks is at seat 10 with 312.00
dolly81 posts the large blind 5.00
Villain_1 posts the small blind 2.50
Birks: Q♣, Q♠
Pre-flop:
Villain_2: Raise 10.00
Birks: Raise 15.00
Villain_1: Call 15.00
Villain_2: Call 15.00
I don’t piss around with Queens at 5-10. At 1-2 on Ultimate I would be laying odds that I was up against AA sitting behind me, but on Virgin the guy could have bloody anything.
Flop (Board: 9♠, 2♣, 3♣):
Villain_1: Check
Villain_2: Check
Birks: Check
Reasoning? Dunno. A combination of things which all added up to me wanting to see another card for free. If it’s raggy and no-one bets, then I’m punting
Turn (Board: 9♠, 2♣, 3♣, A♠):
Villain_1: Check
Villain_2: Bet 10.00
Well, the fold is easy on two counts. It wasn’t a rag, and someone bet
Birks: Fold
Villain_1: Call
River 6◊
Villain_2: Bet 10.00
Villain_1: Call
Villain_2 shows A♣ J♣
Villain_1 Shows K◊ K♣
Villain_2 wins $87 with a Pair of Aces.
++++
A hand that illustrates the problem with AK in a multi-way pot.
Saturnus is at seat 1 with 287.50
nadjaz is at seat 2 with 384.50
dolly81 is at seat 3 with 264.50
Sticky Bum is at seat 4 with 470.00
micki5 is at seat 5 with 90.00
Villain_2 is at seat 6 with 326.50
makinante is at seat 7 with 212.50
stillshady is at seat 8 with 407.50
Villain_3 is at seat 9 with 701.02
Birks is at seat 10 with 780.00
Birks posts the large blind 5.00
Villain_3 posts the small blind 2.50
Birks: K♠, A♣
Pre-flop:
nadjaz: Call 5.00
Sticky Bum: Call 5.00
Villain_3: Raise 10.00
Birks: Raise 15.00
nadjaz: Call 15.00
Sticky Bum: Call 15.00
Villain_3: Raise 20.00
Birks: Call 20.00
nadjaz: Call 20.00
Sticky Bum: Call 20.00
$80 in the pot.
Flop (Board: K♣, 2♥, 3◊):
Villain_3: Bet 5.00
Birks: Raise 10.00
nadjaz: Fold
Sticky Bum: Call 10.00
Villain_3: Call 10.00
I see no reason to piss around here.
Turn (Board: K♣, 2♥, 3◊, T♠):
Villain_3: Check
Birks: Bet 10.00
Sticky Bum: Call 10.00
Villain_3: Call 10.00
River (Board: K♣, 2♥, 3◊, T♠, J♣):
Villain_3: Check
Birks: Check
Sticky Bum: Check
I’m tempted to bet for value again. I strongly suspect that I might be splitting the pot, and there’s a chance that Sticky Burn is playing very cannily, or that Villain_3 has something insane like AQ. In retrospect, a bet for value is probably correct.
Showdown:
Villain_3 shows: K♥, A♥ (a pair of Kings)
Birks shows: K♠, A♣ (a pair of Kings)
Sticky Bum shows: K◊, A◊ (a pair of Kings)
Splitpot of 45.66 a pair of Kings
(3.00 rake were taken for this hand)
Notice the immaculate grammar that you get on Virgin’s quite staggeringly bad hand histories.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess that the only thing that this hand shows is that betting your overpair for value is usually the right decision.
