Jools tries to muscle in on anything he thinks is promising and anything he thinks is cosily old. So he ends up with newcomers and has-beens. I think I've seen the Muse 9/11/01 thing. There's a compilation DVD of 'look at this lot - they were once quite promising', a BritPop Mk II thing with people like Muse, The Coral, Keane (who I'm guessing you can't stand), Snow Patrol, et al.
I have a soft spot for KT Tunstall, based unreasonably on the fact that she went to my university and played some of her first gigs in very scruffy Union bars that I know well (although years after we were there). I'm sure she is just taking the piss with the glammed-up stuff. She's not some kid fresh out of Performance School after all, just yer average foul-mouthed Scots lassie, who doesn't mind fooling around with the make-up kit so long as someone professional is around to make sure it looks fine.
