Cold (2)

I went into the chemist's yesterday to pick wholesale quantities of Benilyn, Lemsip and Ibuprofen. I showed the pharmacist my remaining Aleve tablets and asked if they had anything with similar ingredients in the UK. He looked at it and said, "no, naproxen is illegal here".

I thought that it was too effective to be legal.

So, next time I'm in the US, it will be stocking-up time.

But, hero that I am, I dragged myself into the office. We move desks in a couple of weeks, so I shall lose my view of the BT Tower. I quite like my new location. It's a little bit more central (more people to chat with) to the whole office floor. And, although I am not directly by the window, I'm only a couple of feet away, so I can see daylight, but without the drawback of the sun getting into my eyes either first thing in the morning (this desk) or at 2pm in the afternoon (desk on opposite side of office that I used to sit at).

All office moves in this company are usually a result of two things: (1) Office politics. Someone needs an office because they have been promoted, so everyone else gets moved so it doesn't look so elitist (2) To disguise the people who aren't at their desks any more because they aren't with the company any more. One has to assume that the bosses think that we are only slightly above the level of laboratory mice and that, if we move to different desks, we will forget about who was here but isn't any more, because their desk will have vanished in the reorganization.

Actually, now that I come to think about, as a system it works quite well.
