As I sit here with four temporary veneers and two temporary inlays, awaiting my next time-consuming and wallet-busting (final) trip to el dento next Friday, I'm trying to work out what, if any, foods I can eat. It's been a fairly miserable week foodwise.
Pokerwise it's been good. Chopping off a $300 pot when I was only 9% was the highlight of it (particularly since it was against a German who I promptly went on to pwn at three tables. I dread to think what he was saying after I had stacked him off for the third time in two hours). But the rest of it has including managing to get to platinum status on Stars, which means an extra 80,000 VPPs, which means only 10,000 VPPs needed over the next month or so to make supernova.
I vacillated between taking 25,000 FPPs for the £250 Amazon voucher of 10,000 FPPs for the $160 instant cash. In the end I took the cash and I'll just pray that the voucher stays in place (it looks a little bit more tailored to a $1.50 exchange rate than a $1.60 rate, but Stars apparently fixes its rates months ahead, so the arbitrage opportunities often remain) while I chock up another 5,000 FPPs or so.
All of that brought the months to a near $1,500 gain, which compares nicely with the eleven bucks that I made last month and with the $200 that I was up for the month about a week ago. Although it's tempting fate so to say, I've had a couple of "bad" spells this month, and I suspect that $1,300 to $1,500 a month might be my EV at $100 buy-in.
