May. 24th, 2007 07:41 amParadise Poker is in the process of moving over to Boss Media. I've still got 900 FPPs on Paradise which I occasionally spend, a couple of hundred at a time, on their freerolls (Busted 33rd with 30 getting paid last time on the simple grounds that $2.50 isn't worth fighting over, so I promptly went on three steals, got called each time, and lost them all. Surely that isn't how it's meant to happen when you are near the bubble?). It will be interesting to see what the non Pokertracker "upgrade" will look like, but, if I retain my FPPs in some shape or form, I'll be getting rid of them as soon as possible.
The Hendon Mob tried to put the fear of god into people by saying that Mansion Poker would no longer be offering rakeback, so, well, SIGN UP THROUGH US NOW!.
The thing is, Mansion, despite offering 36% rakeback, deducts your deposit bonuses from this (and the bonuses are $1000 for the first deposit up to a grand and 50% for the second and third deposits), and, since there's no PT facility, it seems pointless going near the site, despite the apparent attractiveness of the RB offer. Looks like most others feel the same, with PL/NL Hold 'em being just about the only cash game in town.
++++++++++
And, finally, who says London isn't green? I think that it would be a good idea for Las Vegas to do this in its own equivalent space.
Sorry for the poor quality. I left camera at home so this is second-best option.
Oh, I forgot. Las Vegas doesn't have its own equivalent space. Oh well, never mind.

Environments and them what live in them
Date: 2007-05-28 09:07 pm (UTC)I'm trying to imagine playing a decent game of croquet on this handkerchief of turf, and, irrespective of the distractions of commingling architectural styles in the background, I have to come to the conclusion that it is just too small. And probably covered in dog and pigeon poop.
I think the time has come for a proper, localised, referendum on English devolution.
Let's face it, the rest of us don't want you ponces anywhere near us. Luckily, we're prohibited from visiting London by ludicrous road congestion, absurd prices on Mr Major's privatised railways, and the simple desire to spend time in an environment that doesn't shout "Filth! Filth!" at you wherever you turn.
I'm all for an independent Northumbria, an independent Duchy of Lancaster, and an independent Kingdom of Mercia. (That would be fun. We could invite the last King of Lower Saxony in as our constitutional monarch.) I suppose Kernow and Devon and Somerset would have to fight it out amonst themselves ... but ... well, they've got scrumpy. Should be fun.
And if you want outside investment, don't look to Brussels. Look to Germany. That's where all the money came from to spark the Celtic Tiger in Eire. I'm rather looking forward to this. Gordon Brown sporting a new Estuarine accent and begging money from Merkel?
No, you're all doomed.
And is that really supposed to be an impressively horticultural part of (hawk spit) London? My God. The Mars garden at Chelsea was more appealing.
