The use of hyperbole (which is pretty much the same as meaningless rhetoric - discuss) begs the question. You've done it yourself by saying significant. I think that we need to rein things in, but do not agree at all with the scale of cuts discussed by the coalition - which are being widely accepted as inevitable.
