More Tales
Dec. 6th, 2005 11:29 amPut myself on waiting list for 8-16 in Bellagio, but sat down in the 4-8 in the meanwhile. A quicj perusal of the 8-16 game (it was at the next table) quickly showed that it was a rockfest interspersed by a few wannabee pros.
I stayed in the 4-8 for four hours and made $192. It actually was not that loose.
One entertaining moment came when the 10 seat raised, only to be called in the one, two, and four seats (four was the Big blind). Flop came 678 rainbow. Four seat checked, ten seat bet $4 and one seat immediately pushed $8 into the pot. Two seat folded and Ten seat ostentatiously threw is QQ face up into the muck into the middle with a "disgusted" fold. One seat turned over 9-10 suited for the flopped straight.
Wow, I thought, what a great pass. I wonder if he had a read?
Turned out he hadn't. He didn't realize that the one seat had raised, and thought that he had won the pot.
On the waiting list, announcement that a seat was open for "Reggae". Apparently the Americans have problems with the name "Reg" and the guy's surname begane with an "A".
Of for a nap and then to the MGM for the 4-8 with a half-kill. Took some time for a seat to become availble, damn it. Another profitable four hours for $150, making me three for three and up $550 in my pocket after 36 hours? Am I running good? Yes. Am I running very good? No. These guys are just weak. In the MGM my Aces came twice and lost twice. In the seecond instance the flop came J22 rainbow and I immediately folded when my opponent check-raised the turn of a random 7. I showed my aces and he showed his two jacks. He didn't need to. They were written on his forehead.
So, to the Bellagio. I must try 8-16 this morning. Oh, and the "dry skin" has hit early this year. Anyone ever coming here, make sure you have a tube of E45 handy. It works a treat.
Jet lag should kick in at 6pm tonight by normal calculations. I then sleep for 12 hours and am back in daytime sync.
