This will be my last entry in the Flamingo and, unless there is a cool and easy-to-operate system in The Venetian, my last for a day or two.

Today was one of those mantra-testing days. 12 hours, never more than $30 up or $130 down, and finishing a grand sum of $5 down. Hardly any intersting hands to report (I managed to get paid off with my Queens full and a flopped straight against trips, but this was counteracted by long periods of seriously dead cards). It was a tightish table all day, which meant that I would steal a couple of pots by the turn, only to lose a bigger one back when my single opponent decided that he had a piece of the flop and would play back at me. Unfortunately I never really "caught" a hand (apart from the two mentioned above), and so it was always a struggle. Some days are like that. To be honest, I thought that I did rather well.

A quick late meal with David Lloyd and Stephen Bartlet of Gutshot. We went to the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. However, the band were more like "House of Jazz Funk". This wasn't helped by the fact that a table a little way away from us kept calling for some Earth, Wind and Fire. Hell, I've never met anyone who liked Earth, Wind And Fire.

I managed to destroy a rack of ribs, which impressed Mr Lloyd no end. And ten , just after we left, the band decided to play Voodoo Chile. Clearly we got our meal timing wrong on that one.

So, knackered. And I haven't even started packing yet.

It's still cold out there; I just haven't been out that much recently.
