3000 Flowers
Jun. 13th, 2006 07:57 amWell, the connection at home theoretically upgraded to 6mb yesterday. For a few hours it seemed to go "up and down", but when it was "up" it was, well, Ace. The connection to and from the office via the Virtual Private Network was particularly improved.
I've been trading total goals intra-game for most of the matches so far in the World Cup, for a net profit so far of just over a tenner. Wow. Don't give up the day job. It's a fairly simple system that happens to be working at the moment. Full run-down at the end of the first round.
And so, after a night when it was so warm that no sheets were needed even though the window was left open, I get up to find what. Rain. That's what. Wonderful.
An interesting new album on the headphones this morning. "Rubies", by Destoyer. belying the name, which makes one expect some kind of Anthrax Deff-metal, the album might better be described as "A sane Daniel Johnston", with lyrics often veering off into the surreal. Very much in the currently hip Sufjan Stevens mode (adulated in the latest Snow Patrol album lyrics, I see), but eminently listenable to. And the layered lyrics reward concentration. Usually along the lines of "Now what did he mean by that?
