I may be the shittiest poker player on the planet, but I don't reckon that many people can match me when it comes to personal finance deals. Within six hours I not only agreed to buy the flat downstairs, but I also arranged a loan of £250K over the phone, and I actually got them to offer me the money "to buy somewhere else if this deal falls through". Not that it will, but it's nice to be offered that kind of cash unconditionally, on a non-buy-to-let basis, and interest-only as well. And I've booked in the solicitor too. Man, hot or what?
Things always happen to snarl up what looks like a smooth process when you are buying or selling properties, but at the moment, this one looks good.
Of course, then I have to arrange the renting out. Uggh.
And I found a shiny new penny on the floor this morning while walking to work, so I picked it up. That's the turning point. It's like lucky socks. Then again, it's worrying when you look forward to going to work because it gets you away from burning money at the poker tables...
