Another "Update" from Neteller which offers some hope for the US account holders, but doesn't really clear up what is happening with the now nigh-on $60m ($2.5K of which is mine) that is sitting in limbo.

Nor are there any details for what my position will be when the situation is resolved (a plan apparently to go into place by July 13). Neteller just blithely states that "non-US members continue to be minimally affected".

Well, not me, mate.

I guess I will hang on until July 13 (six months after the initial freeze, minus three days) to see if this money ever makes its way to my US account. However, where I will stand post "the end of the US customers" remains completely unclear. E-mailing Neteller is likely to gain the respnse "we recommend you open up a GBP Sterling Account", which is the last thing I intend to do. No-one I am likely to speak to at Neteller is going to have the faintest idea what my position will be, probably because it hasn't yet been decided. The ideal would be for me to carry on as before, transferring funds to my US account, but even I know that this is unlikely to work. The worst scenario is if Neteller insist on changing my account currency to GBP and the associated account to a UK bank account. If that is the case, I guess I will just have to keep any transfers in and out of Neteller to an absolute minimum.

I know that I'm a distinctly unusual case the grand scheme of things at Neteller, and, for that reason, I've been relatively patient. After all, they did waive the dollar transfer fee after their last cock-up on the computer upgrade front, and I have been treated to a meal at the Ivy by them.

But it would be nice to know roughly what was likely to happen.

++++++++++

I'm developing other plans vis-a-vis the house. I hate hypothesising too much, but things have dragged on so much (see Neteller as well) that I might well end up dead before things get sorted out. So. I'm putting plans together.

The downside of the plas is that they take time, and the only place time can come from are blogging, online poker, and work. Work is too profitable, and blogging kind of keeps me sane, so perhaps, much though I hate to do it, I might have to draw back from poker. A pity, because the money would be useful.
