Got the game back together over the past couple of nights, which was nice. I'm still running bad over the month and the past seven days, but I'm in the black, and, of course, bonuses and rakeback are at times like this a welcome morale boost.
I've been playing the cheapo UK & Ireland tournament league this month, but this wasn't a good idea. Sure, it's an "easy" $200 or so, but it just takes up too much time to get it. Zero volatility is good, but when the hourly rate works out at about $5, it isn't really worth it.
The last time I did this I just played the 25FPP Division and the 10FPP satellite to the EPT weekly final. That meant I could relax in front of the TV for the first hour, before anything really interesting started to happen. This month I've been playing to $1 Division and freeroll as well, and the combination of the four means I have to stay at the computer. Most of the time, though, I'm thinking "I could be averaging a lot more than this if I was playing cash".
++++
I went to the International Underwriters Association 10th Birthday Party on Thursday, at the Dickens Inn on St Katherine's Dock. A chap there was doing caricatures and he did one of me which I thought was remarkably good. So much so in fact that I've made it my Facebook profile.
Here it is.

I think that he got the chin and the nose spot on. Would have been interesting to see what the same artist would have made of my face with my "old" glasses and pre-teeth-fixing.
+++++
People round for dinner tonight. As yet my preparation is, er, zero. Hope that this is not a sign of overconfidence.
Spotify continues to be FTW. Klaus Schulze, The Dodos, just two of the recent discoveries.
+++++++++
I've also been scanning a number of my old photos in preparation for uploading to a Facebook album. I shan't tag them (except in exceptional circumstances) because, well, because. But they are an interesting collection of pictures!
