I bought a three-day bus pass yesterday (Monday 22nd) and headed on the SDX down to the premium outlet just past Town Square. For about three-quarters of an hour it looked as if I would buy nothing. Even though the store that sells Lee and Wrangler jeans at ridiculously cheap prices had some stock, it occurred to me that have far too many jeans, even if I only count the ones into which I can currently fit.

But I finally found a store that had some of the stuff I wanted - viz, a sweatshirt without a hood (surprisingly hard to find in these days where every white kid seems to think that he is black), termed "crew neck", I see, plus a jumper/sweater, and a plain polo shirt.

Thence to the Van Heusen store where to my delight I saw that they still had in stock my favourite shirt style and pattern (bought a couple of years ago). So I bought a couple of shirts and a rather nice scarf. Total cost about $100 for both sets of purchases, I think.

I played a couple of sessions starting at 5pm and made a bad mistake in the last hand of the first session when I picked up 8h8c under the gun. As is usually the case, my mistake wasn't the final call, it was the way that I played the hand prior to that - specifically, my continuation bet on the flop into four opponents when the board read 7s6s5s. I got two callers and when 4d came on the turn to give me a straight I carried on. A shortish stack raised all in and I was now getting 4-to-1 for my call -- just about enough given that his range included stuff like Ace of spades and any non-spade.
So the struggle continues and in a few cases I have only myself to blame. The important thing, of course, is to learn from the errors and not to go on tilt. I played a nice session in Bally's after that, despite poor cards. I more than doubled through to a small profit when I played AQo just about perfectly from the small blind, raising the right amount pre-flop and betting the correct amounts on a flop of Axx, on the blank turn and on the river. That got me back in front for that session, but still down $70 on the day, when I really ought to have been about ten bucks in front.

This morning i got the SDX north to downtown, a relentlessly depressing place that has the sole virtue of better food at bargain prices. Most annoyingly, I took only a few photos (see Facebook) before my batteries ran out. The Pentax K100 has the irritating habit of telling you that the batteries are fine and then suddenly stopping working.
Fortunately I had some spare batteries, but they were back in the hotel room. So I jumped on a southbound SDX that I happened to see waiting by Binion's, and headed to the Flamingo.
Even more annoyingly, I managed to take a few photos on the Pentax that were out of focus -- an old schoolboy error that I only repeated because it was a long time since I had used the K100. It's bulky, but preferable because of its adaptability in manual mode. Unfortunately that means you have to remember the focus distance as well as the stop value and the timing. For four rather good photos in Binion's and a couple in the Flamingo habitat zone yesterday I forgot to do that. Irritating.

I was diverted by a walk through the Fashion Mall and the Wynn shopping esplanade. I took some pictures using my tablet.

Not sure what I shall do tomorrow. I'd originally planned to head east or west on the 202 route, but I might head back up to downtown to take some more pictures and visit the pawn shop.
