Wireless? Piece of piss

peterbirksWell, at the third attempt, I sem to have configured the laptop so that it is working on the network (Wireless connecton 5, the icon tray helpfully informs me). However, a few clouds are on the horizon. First, I still can't work out how to get the WEP security working, which makes me vulnerable to bandwidth farmers. Second, apparently there are "known issues" relating to Windows XP, whereby if my laptop hibernates, on coming back to life, it sometimes won't link back to the network. There is a patch for this, but I haven't downloaded it yet (because I discovered it when I couldn't get the machine online - duh.)
Alex and Jo had a game in Tooting last night, and I would have liked to have gone. But it was probably lucky that I didn't. I flaked out at 10pm. Gawd, this age isn't all that it's cracked up to be.
