OK, I'm baffled
Nov. 26th, 2007 12:49 pmIt's a busy day today, but I'd be grateful if someone can explain this to me.
I cannot connect to Live Journal on my home computer, even though I can connect to all other sites as per normal.
On my work computer (the one in the home office), I CAN connect to LiveJournal, but only if I am patched into the Virtual Private Network (the one that lets me access the company's servers). If I disconnect from the VPN, I can't access LiveJournal, even though I can access other web sites without a problem.
Additional weirdness. Normally when I am patched into the VPN, I am unable to see the link to Full Tilt, because that is a blocked site by our company. However, at the moment, I can see the Full Tilt link when I am online to the office. When I'm not online to the office (see above) I can't access my home page at all.
Clearly it's something that changes the way that I access the Internet when I am on the VPN. But I would expect (if anything) to be able to access LiveJournal when I wasn't connected the the VPN, and to be unable to access it when I was connected to the VPN.
Anyone got any clue what is going on?
I'll try a disconnect from the web from the router when I get beck from the dentist, and then a "turn off and turn on again". But that doesn't explain the why. It's a failure that I just can't figure out.
