Am I in the old Germany?
Feb. 19th, 2008 12:45 pmSo, I finished work and I went to the dentist; paid out lots of money. Came home. Painting of flat downstairs virtually finished. Paid out lots of money. Then I resourced the last remnants of energy in my tired body and made my way to "Carpetstore" ("passing this store could severely damage your wealth") near Ladywell, prepared to pay out lots of money.
Got there. Sign said: "Opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5.30pm"
Tuesday to Saturday? Where did they get that one from? That was on a par with the Irish coffee house I saw once near a beach near Sligo (v close to the world-famous Sligo Airport). This particular repast house opened on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
++++++++++++
So, came home, slept. Got up. Managed 45 minutes on IP Network. Watched TV. I'm knackered.
But I got myself back to the gym today. I am noble.

Not unreasonable figures from Barclays this morning, although one has to wonder whether the headline credit writedown of £800m is the full and final story.
++++++++++++
So, painting downstairs is done. One guy to get back to install some bits and pieces. Then I think I'm ready to get the estate agents round. Then it's a matter of buying the furniture required. Feels like every time I wake up in the morning these days I spend a grand. And it's all sensible spending with an aim to generating a return. Where's the fun in that?
