Dec. 6th, 2011 09:05 amI went for a walk this morning up to the Fashion Mall, then into the Venetian to take advantage of the free wi-fi. You know that you are running bad when even the ATM decides to break down on you. Requested $300, got $200. At least I got a receipt from the ATM admitting that it had fucked up. "Requested, $300, dispensed, $200", without a word of explanation (the limit on that particular card is $500 a day, btw).

The Venetian "Christmas Tree"

Inside the Venetian shopping arcade. The sky is,of course, fake.

The waterfall between the Palazzo and The Venetian. Actually, I think this is rather well done. It's almost peaceful.

Some birds in The Flamingo's gardens.

Another brid.

And, just for Mr Webley, another couple of fowl.

At the Fashion Mall
Another "might have been" day at the tables. It's clear that the games are beatable, but the volatility is huge. It's just all about waiting for the right situations (against other players) and waiting for the right cards (For when the bonuses hit). No sets, no real action when I was good, and generally some competent opponents with a fair smattering of weak opponents. I actually got to the stage where I raised my game a level (i.e., became more subtle) because there were three players at the table 'clever' enough to be fooled by the subtlety. These 'moves' only won smallish pots via check-raise bets on the turn with what were actually not check-raise hands (neither draws, bluffs nor v strong).
My splash pot call of a $70 all in with 52-off was perhaps a little bit light (she had 44 and hit a set) but not by much. $70 to win $180 with about 24% equity. Well,ok, perhaps it was a bit light, but it did wonders for my table image.
Tired now. bed.
