What a cracker
Jun. 24th, 2005 10:34 pmWell, I have the office computer back, fully functioning. Life is good, apart from the fact that for three sessions of PLO I have been unable to hit the side of a barn door at twenty paces. No bad beats, just no playable flops. It all eats away at the stack quite quickly. But, it was due.
I've only watched three acts at this year's Glastonbury so far, and two have been first class. The Babyshambles came good — I think that history is proving kind to The Libertines' first album Up The Bracket. I listened to The Magic Numbers album last night, and I definitely detected some Libertinesque influences. Now, given Pete Doherty's recent past, you can't really expect much from the man; survival is about as good as it gets. But his performance tonight was startlingly good for a man who is, basically, a wreck who has only been out-drugged by Shane Maguire.
The Doves, in contrast, were just as good as they always are, despite some technical hitches. "There Goes The Fear" is just one of those classic live tracks, ending with all four of the band playing percussion.
