First half-round up
Jun. 29th, 2009 10:01 pmFirst, the hard figures:
I've played 541 hours so far this year for an average hourly rate of $20.94. Last year's hourly rate was $16.65, while the previous year's was $10.86.
Last year's win rate per 100 hands of $7.67. This year's win rate per 100 hands has been $9.46.
In both of the above figures I have eliminated the $2,500 "one-off" that I have awarded myself for the week in Monte Carlo. That includes the hotel stay, but excludes the tournament entry.
I would have been happy (and will be happy), to maintain my numbers for 2008 for 2009 as a whole. The past three months have been tough, with a win of just over $2,000.

This graph also ignores the $2,500 "non-cash award".
Party started off well and has continued to be the fun site. Avge per 100 hands there has been $10.69. Littlewoods beats this ($15.47 per 100) but that was helped by the deposit bonus and the fact that my name was "new". My assumed rakeback deal there fell through because the company only mentioned signing up with an account before the move from William Hill, not that I had to make a physical deposit. My bad, though, I could have made a deposit without a problem.
Pacific has been horribly tough for about five months, but I really think that it's a matter of me running bad there (just as I have run good at Party). The big single day wins have been at Party (including the $1200 one day recently), while the big losses have been at Pacific (including the $1k loss there earlier this month). The per 100 hands rate at Pacific has been $5.22. If we ignore the non-cash win, Stars is $4.53 a hundred.
For the second half I will be playing more at Stars, hoping to get the hang of beating the different style so evident on the US-dominated sites. I may also try some more 6-max.

As you can see, I've been struggling at $100 since the end of February. This led me to analyze certain spots and change my pre-flop plays there. However, I think that, once again, much of it is just running bad. I ran well for six months and have not run so well for the past three months. That said, things are not so easy. In particular, the dinations at Pacific are getting much rarer, while the number of Professionals coming in to take advantage has increased.
Actual numbers are about $200 better than this, because I have a cash conversion that will be going through on Pacific tomorrow, where the points system has improved dramatically in the past month. I'm now generating about $180 bonus a month there, rather than $20.

Numbers still look good compared with previous years (no inclusion of non-cash award here either), but H1 has been very much a game of two quarters....
There now follows a lot of white space before the final table, and I can't for the life of me figure out what is generating it.

Date: 2009-06-29 09:30 pm (UTC)How do you get $300 from FTP without playing so much as one hand - or is that what the wee addie on the blog is worth? ;-)
Any other sites under active consideration for a possible try? (No, I don't have any referrer links...!)
