Down in Texas
Jan. 27th, 2006 06:07 amI went to the Texas Cantina or whatever it is called on Cockspur Street by Trafalgar Square last night, for what had originally been billed as a Hold'em night, but turned out to be a standard PR thing with a couple of casino tables, except that this time they were offering Caribbean Stud rather than the usual Blackjack. Yawn. Spoke to a couple of guys from Markel for an hour or so, and then came back home. Sometimes being jsut 20 minutes from Charing Cross has its advantages.
I suspect that I have identified the source of my bathroom leak, although the news is not good. I've avoided using the hot water in the bathroom for a couple of days, and this has stopped the dripping. If (as I suspect) the leak is where the main hot water pipe to the bathroom meets the feeds to the shower, bath and sink, then half the floor is going to have to come up (three layers thereof - rubber, plywood, original floorboards). And, of course, I would quite like to have a bath at some point. But at least identifying the source seems like progress.
Oh well, more later, I have a train to catch.
