Unashamedly nicked from Mike Woodhouse (jellymillion). I should have been working when I did this!

A surprising result. I thought that I would come out as being more fiscally conservative.

You are a

Social Liberal

and an...

Economic Moderate

I imagine there's a fair bit of wiggle-room in this, plus the questions are US- rather than Brit-oriented. Nonetheless, I'd somehow have expected to see us on opposite sides of the horizontal axis.

It's little things like these that help keep the day moving forward at a slightly-above-torpid rate...

I find myself due South of your position just North of the Democrat/Socialist borderline. But then I guess I am a bit more of an economic socialist. You're getting dangerously close to Jonathan's territory where you are.

Interesting. I was just NW of you, in the 'Libertarian' zone, which surprised me. I always thought my opinions were quite different to yours, particularly when it came to Political Economics (unless you've changed a lot since your GH days). I always remember you selecting Roy Jenkins as your 'best 20th Century British Chancellor' and not even bothering to argue with you. I reckoned that the thing that put him bottom of my list would confirm your opinion. Of course, this was well before Gordon Brown.

I found myself about 20 degrees anti-clockwise from PjB in the "Libertarian" sector, All I have to do now is to find out what a "Libertarian" really is!

Gordon Brown?

Worst or best? I'm leaning to the worst of my lifetime these days.

Worst. Roy Jenkins was the Chancellor who introduced a tax at a rate of more than £1 in the £1, something which people like Papa Doc or Al Capone would have been proud of. Admittedly, I always doubted that this was his particular policy. It just happened whilst he was filling the seat at that time in his career. Therefore, he takes the rap.

However, no-one has ever accused Gordon Brown of not being responsible for what happens on his watch. Consequently, he is primarily responsible for squandering Labour's inheritance without successfully providing the sort of society that people yearned for when they voted Labour in 1997.

Cheers,

NL

Simple enough: libertarians, as you might guess from the name, believe in freedom. For more details, try looking it up in Wikipedia or something.
