It's an odd life
Apr. 20th, 2005 05:00 pmYOu aren't going to believe it, but the Modem/Router is working. Not only that, the wireless to the laptop is working. OK, it sends bells and whistles that the connection is not secure, but I'll worry about that when I can understand the manual. Meanwhile, this is still being typed on the old desktop via the Manta-Ray, because the one part that I haven't got together is the network card for this machine, because I can't work out how to remove a banking plate from anHP Pavilion. ANyone got any ideas (for added detail, you get into the box via a side panel on this machine, not via the back.)
However, the Virtual Private Network isn't working, and it was this that screwed things up. When I try to connect, it fails, and it stops the internet connection dead. Turning off the computer and turning it back on does not solve the problem, but turning off the Belkin Modem/Router and turning THAT back on does solve the problem. Magic
