Summer time
Jun. 14th, 2012 06:33 pmVery pleasant here in Bermuda, thank you very much. Highs of about 77 degrees and overnight lows of 70 degrees, although the days seem hotter and the nights seem cooler.
Have been quite busy, which has meant no opportunity for sitting in the shade by the pool and reading a book. Fortunately it's mainly been a case of flitting from air-conditioned room to air-conditioned room, although today I walked into town to meet Arthur Wightman, the new PwC insurance leader in Bermuda, for lunch and an interview.
So now I really ought to be writing up my notes, but what I suspect I shall do is finish this, have a quick swim and then head off to Harry's Bar to watch Spain v Ireland. London next week, quite definitely, does not seem that attractive.
Mind you, the timetable of producing the newsletter from here and the fragility of the internet connection means that there is a downside. Since I was effectively doing one and a half jobs on Tuesday and Wednesday, with an internet connection that could at times be infuriating. But the worst of it is now out of the way, and I don't fly back until Sunday night.
No poker, the internet connection is too iffy. Don't miss it.

View of the pool from my (new) room.
++++++++
It was a bit of a shock to learn this morning that the Swiss Central Bank has told Credit Suisse to get its act together. The markets didn't take too kindly to it either -- knocking its share price down by 10%.
Have moved up my short euro-dollar position to GBP300 a cent again. Still have a 2.5 cent buffer before I get back to my stop-out position.
Oh well, that's about enough. The pool beckons
