Well, it didn't go badly with the installation. Come 11pm, and I have Office 2003, Pokertracker, NoIQ poker and GameTime+ functioning on a dual monitor system. I've also managed to import some hands over from the old machine. Yes, I know that I could try importing the databases "as are", but the sheer size of those things can cause problems (or they have in the past).
All in all, pleasing progress.
Then again, I look at what still needs to be done, and it seems a long haul. But, the back of it has been broken. Now it's a matter of importing stuff from the old machine when I need it (or feel like it) and downloading for installation the various other programs available online. Oh, and installing the drivers for the scanner and the printer, and deciding where to put the stuff for which there is no longer any room on the table.
