Oh god, the builders
Jun. 7th, 2005 07:09 amWell, I finally managed to get hold of someone who might do the ceiling. And he might, just might, come round at 2pm today to look at it. The trouble is, the repairs will necessitate moving all of the computers to the other side of the room. Given the bookshelves already in situ where the table will have to go, this looks like a three-hour moving job. And, on top of that, when the guy actually starts work, I have no idea how I will organize my day. Times were I looked forward to this kind of excitement. Not any more. Looks like all the gym plans for this week can be picked up and burnt.
A loss of $19.50 yesterday in an hour's play on Party (two tables of $5-$10). It was almost a shock not to hit a set, given my recent good run. Tables are definitely v tough between 4pm and 6pm. Perhaps the "afternoon" crowd rather than the "lunchtime crowd" are easier. That would dictate playing from 6pm to 8pm or even a bit later.
But I did buy a begonia for the office yesterday, which was nice.
