One would think that with just half an hour of two-tabling needed to clear a $200 bonus, little could go wrong. However, somehow I managed to destroy $380 in just that short time. Fuming, but not tilting, I won back $190 of it, so that I could, at least, book a ten-buck profit on the exercise. OK, it took me an hour and a half, and my ostensible excuse is that there were a couple of crappy players around. But, basically, let's face it, I was plain pissed off. So, the struggle continues. Let's have some fun on Stars, now.

But not on Saturday: Because then, I will have:

This is MINE!!!!

Hey! A cut!

And, I'll show my American ignorance here. Is this a much-anticipated match? I thought Australia just basically rolls over everyone.

Shane from the nation that started the oldest international cricket series.
The Australians will only roll over England in this match, Pete wants to watch the last rites on Saturday.

"Much anticipated" might be one way to look at it. Because they're not rolling over anything just now.

It's kinda like the final game in the World Series of Cricket, if such a bizarre concept is imaginable. The best team in the world for almost 20 years (them) is trailing 2-1 with one game to play against the improving and currenlty second-best (us). If Australia win, they tie the series and get to "keep" (actually it stays in a museum) a tiny 100+ year-old pot containing the remnants of a burnt twig. And it's the biggest thing in "proper" (i.e. 5-day) cricket for years.

I contemplated bidding £500 for a pair of tickets on eBay but they went for more. So I'll be playing the game at a slightly lower level in some corner of darkest Kent while Pete wallows in history. Bastard.

..and for our transatlantic friends, the weather forecast for Saturday is actually for regular rain showers. But this is good weather because (in baseball terms), we're batting first and the Aussies are up 2-1 after the top of the third.

I'd love to think you'll be watching England build on a first innings lead on Saturday Pete, but I fear you'll be seeing Australia's middle to lower order scurry in and out for rain reasons, building their first innings lead.

No he won't - I have just taken the seat number and reported the ticket stolen. Mr Birks will be doing his best to follow the radio 5 coverage on the desk sargeant's radio....

Pete,
how many overs need to be bowled to stop you getting a rebate?

I think that it used to be 10 overs. Weather (hah hah!) or not that is still the case, I am unsure.
